Biocomputational Biological Engineering Laboratory
About Us
Welcome to Bioinformatics and Computational Bioengineering Lab
(BicBioEng) laboratory. We aim to lead innovation at
the intersection of biology, computation and engineering. We are
committed to developments and providing our students, researchers and
community with the educational resources, tools and opportunities
required for biocomputational research.
What we do
We aim to bridge the gap in biocomputational engineering by leveraging
machine learning and data engineering to advance our research in key
areas like biofilm, digital twin, genomic data analysis and synthetic
biology. The integration fosters innovation in biology, medicine and
biotechnology along with driving innovation in biomarker discovery,
disease modeling and development of transformative healthcare solutions.
Through initiatives like Training in Research and Industry for the
Advancement of Data Science (TRIADS) and South Dakota
Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (SD-BRIN) we
equip our students with data science skills and hands-on experience in
applying data science programs to real-world problem solving by engaging
with industry partners and research labs.
Our Resources
We provide a wide range of resources, including advanced labs and
cyberinfrastructure, to support our students and researchers in their
work. lab infrastructures to help our students and researchers in their
work. We promote innovation in biology, medicine, and biotechnology by
applying cutting-edge computational engineering and biological sciences.
Our resources are dedicated to fostering innovation and providing
hands-on learning opportunities for all engaged. Our laboratory is
